Title: A Thought on the Origin of Social Evolution and Justice
Author: TANIGUCHI Kazuhisa

Economics established itself as an independent domain of academic learning in conjunction with the development of modern capitalistic society. However, the origin of economic phenomena addressed by economics ascends to the remotest antiquity. The birth of Homo sapiens with an identical anatomical structure to ours is dated at around 100,000 years ago, and around 30-60,000 years ago something happened to Homo sapiens living in Africa, following which Homo sapiens spread out the globe. This step is referred to as “Great leap forward”. At this time there must have been a large evolutionary step in Homo sapiens society. Although there are many keywords to describe the characteristics of the primitive society, what actually happened during this “Great leap forward”? In order for the “Great leap forward” to occur what must have happened? Those familiar with mainstream economics may recognize that this kind of questions is not applied in the study of economics, but it is a fundamental question for societal and economic evolution. In this paper, the cause of this great leap is considered to be the emergence of rules of conduct within roving bands of Homo sapiens. And the origin of justice is discussed from F. A. Hayek.
