ABSTRACT OF PAPER
Title: On Cantillon's Economic Theory
Author:
On Cantillon's Economic Theory (Abstract) Essai sur la Nature du Commerce en Général is the only one printed manuscript through which we can trace Cantillon's thought on the function of economic society. We will examine the theoretical characteristic of his (1) value theory, (2) idea of reproduction and surplus, and (3) view on money and trade. It will be proved that although Cantillon's land theory of value preceded Physiocracy and looked similar to it, his idea about the origin of surplus was quite different from that of F.Quesnay, the leader of Pysiocrats. And we will show Cantillon's conception of the entrepreneurship which might bring profits to manufacturers and the third rents to farmers.
