Code of conduct
ESHET Code of Conduct
ESHET members are expected to conduct themselves ethically, honestly, and with integrity in all dealings. Integrity includes the disclosure of real and perceived conflicts of interest.
ESHET members should behave in ways that encourage the free expression and exchange of scientific ideas in all forums. All ideas, topics and methods should be considered on their own merit. Scholars at all levels should be treated fairly and with respect.
ESHET is committed to creating a professional history of economic thought environment where all are able to participate fully, so that equal opportunity and fair treatment apply regardless of characteristics such as age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, political or religious views, personal or social status, affiliations or relationships.
ESHET advocates collective responsibility for the promotion of high standards of conduct across the profession. These responsibilities include supporting the participation and advancement in the profession of individuals from all backgrounds, including particularly those who have been historically underrepresented.
A person of confidence is designated in order to deal with any breach to this code that will have been reported to him/her by ESHET members or which he/she will have observed himself/herself.
